I Quit
Posted by anasimtiaz on Feb 8, 2011 in Featured | 18 commentsAfter fiddling with the mouse for good twenty minutes, moving the composed e-mail away from my sight a few times, I finally mustered the courage to hit the Send button. And walked away to catch some fresh air. It felt like a huge load was suddenly off my head. Coming back to my desk, I got the acknowledgement e-mail confirming the receipt of my notice of resignation. It’s over. I’ve resigned. Although I will still be working at Imagination Technologies for the next two months (i.e. during the notice period), but mentally, I guess now it is time to move on.
What is interesting about the events of the past week is that I knew I had to quit. Yet I found it so hard. Why? Because this is my very first full time job and it is awesome. It’s like first love. Even better. Not only is it an awesome place to work, but I was lucky enough to work with the best manager and with a great team. I will surely miss them!
Now it has been a really hard week for me but I do feel slightly relaxed after giving an official notification. I have set myself some targets to achieve in the next two months so that I can leave on a high. I’m pretty sure life will get on normally now, until the last couple of days, which are surely going to be slightly difficult.
