A friend of mine who happens to be an atheist and a software engineer once asked me about fate. In simplest terms I replied that fate is like a program with some default variables which *could be changed* on the basis of certain IF-THEN-ELSE. Just like a program knows the entire scope of his program, the internal entities of the software are not aware of what kind of default values have been set. We are part of a big software made by a perfect engineer,Allah(SWT) who knows the entire scope of the system. He makes us do things in a certain way and then He also lets us feel good euphoric about ourselves for having done things in that way.
