tales of a military takeover
Posted by anas on May 14, 2009 in London Diary | 3 commentsIn the middle of March this little state finally ran into crisis. This was always expected. It was on the verge of a great collapse. All previous achievements looked futile. There seemed to be no way out of the troubles and chaos. The probability of being declared a failed state was at an all time high. The infighting between the two political parties was the main cause of this state.
The above is an analogy to my condition in the month of March. The state is used to represent myself, while the character of two political parties are the Heart and Mind.
Eventually, in a surprising turn of events, Mr. Common Sense declared emergency and assumed control of this state. Yes, it was a martial law! A strict one! The sole objective of this takeover was declared to save the dying economy (analogous to my academics) of the state. One of the political parties, the Brain, decided to part with the dictator (the common sense). The heart continued its protest in opposition to no use. The other parties (body organs) were quite happy with the new system.
The new rules were very strict. Early mornings and only work. The media (blogging) was oppressed and strict checks were put in place to enforce all laws. The law of waking up at 7 in the morning and sleeping at 12 was one of the most difficult to follow. The plan of action (something like the PCO) was then chalked out which was to be followed to the letter.
And today, 13th of May 2009, after achieving the objectives, Mr. Common Sense has decided to pave way again for the heart and mind to rule the state in their shabby manner. The mission was accomplished successfully, but the undemocratic rule detroyed all other institutions of the state such as health, social life, etc. It will need some time to rebuild.
The heart and mind have already started their struggle for power and I’m pretty sure given another crunch time, common sense will have to intervene once again.
In simple words, my exams have ended after days of extreme hard work. Some exam-related stories were posted on the Imperial blog, but not much. Nothing more to say now. Will be back after recovering all my lost sleep!

Welcome back dude…i hope u had a blast in ur exams. Wish u fast recovery and very well written.
Good luck with the grades n all. Nothing pisses me off more than spending sleepless nights and working tirelessly just to end up with average grades :S
