A New Addition To Family :)

I dread the day when that little mass of flesh (and bones) will grow up and look sheepishly at me, more like a taunt, and scream at the top of her lungs “Anas MAMOOOO!!!!”

Oh God! Why? Why is the brother of a girl who delivers a baby punished with the label Mamoo? Whyyy dear God? This is not fair!! What’s the fault of this innocent brother?

In the moment of this excitement, however, I don’t care what she calls me. I’m sooooo happy for this recent addition to our family which also marks the start of new generation and makes me feel old.

To those of my fellow bloggers and readers who don’t know, my dear sister gave birth to this beautiful girl on 12th February. (Thanking in advance for any congratulatory messages :P )

Needless to say, I wish I was in Karachi for this momentous family celebration and take better pictures with my D60! It sucks being away from home at such occasions. And how would I know? This is the first of such occasion! And, sadly I missed that :(

However, my absence allowed me to have more than my fair share of input in naming the girl. Obviously, my suggestions were better than all others and eventually the girl is named Musfirah (bright shining face).

So here are the first few pictures of the kid. (Seriously! People don’t know how to take good shots!!)

I also thought all of them look same, but as I’ve seen my sister for about 22 years, I could easily say the kid has striking resemblance to her.

  16. Aww. Congratulations, Anas Mamoo!

  17. What’s wrong with Mamu? It’s better than Chacha – the spanish dance? And pateesa is one of my favorites, too. It’s a besan-based mithai, which are always my favorites. It’s like really fine of alternating crispy sugar and soft besan. Yum.
