I Need Divine Help!

I always anticipated a situation like this before embarking on this masters course, but not so soon. I have already complained about lack of time because of the design and implementation of certain filters. But last week I got a cherry on top of my world of problems. The cherry is so heavy that everything below it crashed (whatever that means!). But yeah, that cherry is a new coursework of instrumentation. Now, incidentally this coursework was given on a day when I finalized all my plans about how to carry on for the next eight weeks. My plan was pretty flexible for some unforeseen work. But this coursework has rattled everything. The subject is named instrumentation. The content is related to signal processing and communication systems. The problems are that I don’t remember much of what I studied in those courses at undergrad level partly because of the way they were taught and partly due to my own negligence. The second problem is that I don’t even seem to find the answers to the questions, which are only 4 in number, after digging deep in the books. On the surface they seem pretty simple. Bit rate, bandwidth, etc. and probably the great Shannon will come in to play as well. But I’m just not able to being these bits and pieces together. And the deadline is 1st December. I’m in deep deep shit!!

  1. Yes, there are days where even 24 hours don’t seem enough. But all this work will make some free time all the more merrier. That being said, good luck with your assignments cuz it looks like you need it bad! :)

  2. Yeah man! Thanks…I’m not sleeping tonight until I crack atleast one question :)

  3. Man what was your CGPA at PNEC?

  4. Awais karim

lolz…u see that is why i hate “plans” :) …any ways i know u can do it cuz u have done it many other times.

What is the progress on NFK.

  5. Anas its alright. dont panic. I know exactly what you are going through. Just try to relax your mind a bit. Trust me, a lil time simply for relaxing (not prpcrastinating) would help you a lot. Ofcourse I dont know what relaxation means for you….for me it used to be music but while doing my masters only, i realized that altho i am addicted to music it doesnt exactly relax me. I found another way out: meditation. Try sound meditation if you can.

  6. See, even if you get a good GPA you turn out to be just like the sucker! :D You remember nothing! :P

  7. You’re actually scaring me :D because I am in the process of applying and it doesn’t , look not only difficult.. but it seems ENORMOUSLY difficult !:S

That aside, I do wonder why books are not helping if they are simple questions related to bandwidth and Uncle Shannon.. Try the net maybe.. I’m sure questions like these are adressed SOMEWHERE…One example would do the trick !

    Insha Allah!!

    Umm….December 1st … you DO have time!

Blog a bit :P Thats relaxing!

  8. @ Uni
thats not scary darling. its just that its different there and it takes time to settle down. thats it. so u dont worry at all…n good luck with your application process

  9. @Awais: I don’t think I can, this time. No progress on NFK, I’ll wait.

@karachiwali: Yeah, I’ve panicked, but its not only me. To date, no one on the course has managed to crack the code. Meditation puts me in sleep :D

@SAWJ: GPA was the easiest thing to get at PNEC!

@Uni: No you shouldn’t be scared. Turns out the questions aren’t easy, they look so but they are not. After reading a lot I managed to conclude at least they aren’t easy so that’s somewhat heartening :D And since no one has been able to do them so far, I’m just one of them!
1st December: I DONT HAVE TIME!!!

  10. Not if your class is full of parhaku bachhay!

  11. You were in EE right? So you never had the cushion of Sub-Lieutenants!

  12. @Karachiwali

    Thanks :D .. You sound like a teacher !

And Anas: Okay… Well it’s always a boost to know others are stuck too :D

Great ! Hope you manage to solve em in time IA …(and be the first one to do so) :P

  13. Yeah. I never had a cushion. I WAS the cushion!

  14. @Uni: I don’t mind being the last one to do so :D

@SAWJ: So you’re responsible for some people’s bloated GPAs!!

  15. And they didn’t even say thank you to me! ;)

  16. @ Uni
    i represent my job then…i AM a teacher :)

  17. @karachiwali

    Oh…

    *flushes*

Alright.. er, sorry for sounding bit outspoken then..
