What Am I Doing?

It seems like everyone is spending quite a lot of time online these days, especially my blogging friends. I just checked out some of the regular blogs that I visit and almost all of them are abuzz with activity: regular posts and a high number of comments associated with them. And what the hell am I doing? Oh, I’m busy trying to make a decision at 1 a.m. on a Tuesday night. I’m trying to figure out whether to implement a median filter or a digital biquad filter for my Digital Circuits coursework :S

Any immediate ideas?? Anyone? I am so clueless right now that I can just toss a coin and select the one which shows up. But ofcourse, I’d prefer to make a much more wise decision.

And these filters are not the only thing on my head right now. I have to design some sort of a basic graphic card too in another project. There will be one more project which I have to decide next week and all these need to be done by the second week of January. I have no idea how all this can be accomplished.

It seems like I’m totally out of the league these days. I’m hardly up-to-date with the happenings back home, not responding to e-mails and certainly not spending enough quality time online. Talking about time, I’m running short of it!

  1. Welcome back to the academic community my friend. I, for one, know exactly how you feel :)

  2. i can totally relate to what you are saying. the first semester is always a lil more difficult, youl have plenty of time for everything in the next semester cuz by then you’d be far more comfortable with everything there..atleast thats how it was for me.

  7. “quality time online“?

i guess this is what separates computer people from the rest of the world…

  8. Hey .. You should be happily concentrating on your work, rather than moaning about not having time for ….BLOGGING. Hello !! Priorities ???!!!??

    Implementing filters ?? Designing graphic cards ?? :D :D:D .. Man..thats amazing!

Enjoy !! :D We never got to “design” anything (well, not anything that sounded much cool, anyway) in undergrad.

    Am I envious or what ! :(

  9. @SAWJ: abhi to kch bhi nai kaha and ur scared!

@Awais: seriously! i feel like k kuch bhi nai parha….i was thinking of doing a post comparing what we studied there and these guys are doing here..

    @Hira: Geeks?

@Uni: I’m trying to concentrate, its just soooo tough! I still don’t know which filter to go for btw :D One of them is more interesting and the second one is easier (i think)…i’ve to strike a balance between the amount of work required and the time available…and since its a team project (u knw how it goes in team, dont u? ;) ) so it will probably be a collective decision.

  10. Hey.. After you’re done with the projects, do that analysis thingie, of how and what we study here and undergrad and the differences in graduate level abroad.

That’s actually a very very good idea :)

    Best of luck!

  11. I was actually frustrated earlier on, I even e-mailed our HOD asking him to concentrate on certain topics for the current students rather than just neglecting them, as it happened in our case. I had to cover so much, I’m still doing that in parallel with all these things.
